Privacy by limitation
The facility chooses what Soundscape receives.
The public request form accepts no audio. Before a recording is submitted, the facility receives the applicable handling terms, retention period, and deletion process in writing.

Soundscape reports are reviewed by Michael Simmons, Founder and Product Architect at Basil Labs. Basil Labs is based in Indianapolis, and facility teams can request a video conversation or a local introduction when useful.

Questions
Before a recording changes hands.
Do you install microphones?
No. The initial service uses a limited recording selected by the facility for a specific review.
Does Soundscape transcribe staff conversations?
No. Soundscape is not a transcription service and does not perform speaker identification. Speech-heavy recordings may be unsuitable for review.
Can Soundscape identify an individual animal?
Individual identification is not part of the introductory report. The report describes activity within the selected recording.
Is the report a welfare or behavioral assessment?
No. It is an operational acoustic report. Medical, behavioral, emotional, and compliance conclusions are outside its scope.
Is customer audio used to train models?
Not by default. Any future training or research use would require separate, affirmative permission from the customer.
What happens after I submit this form?
Basil Labs reviews the request first. No audio is collected through this public page. Suitable requests receive next steps and the applicable data-handling terms.
