Lalia Soundscape

Privacy details for a deliberately limited service.

Soundscape is designed around facility-selected recordings and stated operational questions. This page separates inquiry information, submitted audio, derived reports, and any optional future research permission.

Public inquiry

What the request form collects

The public request form collects contact and facility information, the type of period or routine the facility wants to examine, approximate recording length, and whether human conversation is likely to be prominent.

The public request form does not accept audio files or links to recordings. Inquiry information is used to assess the request, reply to the facility, protect the form from abuse, and maintain a record of the conversation.

Submitted recordings

Terms are supplied before any audio is accepted

When a request is suitable, Basil Labs provides the applicable submission instructions and data-handling terms before the facility sends a recording. Those terms identify the intended use, access limits, retention period, and deletion process for that submission.

Purpose limitation

The recording is processed for the report requested by the facility, not for unrestricted secondary analysis.

Human speech

Soundscape does not transcribe conversations or identify speakers. Recordings dominated by human conversation may be rejected as unsuitable.

Access

Access is limited to the processing systems and people needed to validate measurements and prepare the requested report.

Deletion

The raw recording follows the retention and deletion terms disclosed to the facility before upload. A customer may ask for clarification or an earlier deletion where operationally possible.

Derived information

Reports are distinct from raw audio

Soundscape reports may include timelines, summary measurements, timestamps, representative review points, and human-written observations. These derived materials are retained only as needed to deliver the service, support the customer relationship, meet legal obligations, and resolve questions about the report.

The report does not establish an animal’s emotional state, a medical or behavioral diagnosis, staff performance, or compliance with a professional standard.

Separate permissions

Service processing is not training consent

Providing a recording for a Soundscape report does not grant Basil Labs permission to use that recording for model training, a public demonstration, marketing, or unrelated research.

Any such use would require a separate, affirmative permission that identifies the proposed use. Declining that permission does not prevent a facility from using the paid or introductory service.
